The Roots India

For schools, colleges & universities

The rehearsal room is the best classroom we know.

We partner with schools and colleges to build confidence, communication and creativity through theatre — with drama programmes for every age, teacher training, and original productions your students will never forget.

Why theatre in education

What students take away

Marks measure what a child knows. Theatre builds how they show up — in a class, an interview, a friendship, a crowd. Every Roots module is designed around skills schools are already asked to build, including the life-skills and arts-integrated learning goals in NEP 2020.

Confidence

Standing up, speaking out and owning the space — without fear of getting it wrong.

Communication

Clear voice, strong body language, and listening as much as speaking.

Empathy

Stepping into someone else's shoes, literally, to understand how others feel.

Teamwork

Teamwork

An ensemble only works when everyone does. Students learn to lead and to support.

Creativity

Inventing characters, stories and solutions on the spot.

Emotional Expression

Stepping into someone else's shoes, literally, to understand how others feel.

Annual productions & musicals

Your annual day, made unforgettable.

We write, compose, choreograph and direct an original production around your students — every child gets a moment on stage, not just the lead roles. From Broadway-style musicals to theme-based plays, we handle script, music, movement, rehearsals, costume guidance and show-day direction.

  • Original script or adaptation built around your theme and values
  • Roles for every student, from a single class to the whole school
  • Live or recorded music, choreography and stage design guidance
  • Rehearsal schedule planned around your timetable

Teacher training

Drama tools for every classroom.

Teachers learn to use games, role-play and storytelling to teach any subject — from history to science — and to manage energy and attention in a class.

  • Theatre games for focus, warm-ups and group work
  • Role-play and “teacher in role” techniques for lessons
  • Voice care and presence for educators
  • Practical toolkit to use the next day

Children's theatre on campus

Bring a Roots play to your school.

Our original plays for young audiences — including work made for early years — can be performed in your auditorium, with an interactive session for students after the show.
